Bioinformatics combines computer science, statistics, mathematics and engineering to analyze and interpret biological data. It is both an umbrella term for the body and biological studies that use computer programming as a part of their methodology. Example of this is that heart patients have device that monitor their heart and sends data to their local doctor. If something goes wrong doctors can quickly react and save human’s life.


Ambilight is short for ambient lighting. It is a lighting system for televisions developed by Philips. Ambilight creates light effects around the television that correspond to the video content. It adjust both britghtness and color based upon picture content. Integrated into the television cabinet, Ambilight technology is aimed to enable the viewer to see more picture detail, contrast while eliminating on-screen reflections. Great feature for watching movies in home theater.

How does 3D technology work

3D technology has come a long way since Wheatstone developed his stereoscope, then used to view static images and eventually pictures. Now we get to wear 3D glasses and enjoy 3D films, television shows and video games. How does all this work. 3D or stereoscopy refers to how your eyes and brain create the impression of a third dimension. Human eyes are approximately 50mm to 75mm apart – accordingly, each eye sees a slightly different part of the world. It is pretty easy for your brain to figure out the disparity between two images. Your brain can automatically figure our all the angels and math and geometry to sync the images.


5G is 5th generation mobile networks or 5th, are the proposed next telecommunications standards beyond the current 4G standards. It will fulfill data rates of tens of megabits per seconds for tens of thousands of users, 1Gb per second simultaneously to many workers on the same office floor. Latency will be reduced significantly compared to LTE. It will be build on the foundation created by 4G LTE. People would have option to download and upload Ultra HD and 3D videos. It will also make room for the thousands of internet-connected devices entering our everyday world. 

IPv4 vs IPv6

IP (short for Internet Protocol) specifies the techincal format of packets and the addressing scheme for computers to communicate over a network. Currently there are two versions of Internet Protocol IPv4 and IPv6. Newer version is IPv6 and was created to replace current version IPv4. Also IPv6 is called IPng. It was designed as an evolutionary upgrade to the Internet Protocol and will, in facet, coexist with the older IPv4 for some time. It is also designed to allow the internet to grow steadily, both in terms of the number of hosts connected and the total amount of data traffic transmitted.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

When I stumble on this term on internet my heart felt warm. It is concept worth mentioning. On workplace often you get some device PC or laptop, that is quite boring and not powerful enough for the work you need to do. It will be nice when employer will give you money to buy device that you actually want to work on. Than people would choose if they need mobility or they need powerful PC with big monitor screens and so on. Big problem for this is security, but I think this could also be aranged.

Big Data

In most IT portal news feed, you can see these two words. It is also relatively new term in IT, because of big growth of IT, there are more and more data, and it needs to be stored or processed or delivered. Facebook is big example for this. As the facebook user count is bigger, more data is collecting and processing. For this you need complex algorithams so it would everything run smoothly and with no delay on users screens. Relational database management systems and desktop statistics and visualization packages often have difficulty handling big data. The work may require massively parallel software running on tens, hundreds, or even thousands of servers.
